About Sage D Consulting
Sagdrina was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia and is a graduate of the University of Georgia. In 2013 she became the founding executive director of the Georgia Farmers Market Association (GFMA) and has served as a board member for the national Farmers Market Coalition, and worked as an advisor for the Community Foundation of Atlanta and Tuskegee University’s Organic Farming Project. She was chosen to participate in CARE USA’s first Growing Solidarity fellowship and Mailchimp's Forward Project: An innovative approach to funding creative solutions. In 2021, Sagdrina helped design Georgia's first leadership fund specifically designed to honor the state’s black womxn leaders. Currently, she’s working with a group of black growers and farmers market leaders in partnership with Farmers Market Coalition to curate an anti-racist toolkit that will be made available to farmers market leaders across the country.
In her current role as Senior Director of Community Engagement at the Center for Civic Innovation, Sagdrina has developed a network of community leaders; local subject matter experts, community activists, academics, and other key stakeholders around the issue of inequity in Atlanta's philanthropic space. In August 2020, she led a discovery process with over 50 local nonprofit leaders, reviewed data collected by CCI's policy team and organized a group of impactful black women who have created a series of recommended changes and implementation strategies for Atlanta Philanthropy.
Sagdrina’s commitment to equitable local communities can also be seen in her family life. She is the daughter of the late Civil rights Attorney Sage Brown; a decorated Vietnam veteran who was hand-picked by Civil rights leaders to desegregate Chatham County Public Schools. A mother of 3, the foundation laid by Sagdrina’s ancestors continues.
An avid cook, a hobbyist floral arranger, and a tinker of tinctures, Sagdrina is known to share her space with friends and neighbors who frolic through her garden and sample the Gullah Geechee dishes of her childhood.
