Legacy Leadership takes a holistic approach to universal impact, delivering both an individualized and collective transformation

Closing the Equity Gap

Investing in Black Women Leadership

Strengthening Communities

While executive training focuses exclusively on specific skill development, Legacy Leadership holistically looks at the experience of the leader, delivering both an individualized and collective approach.

Our programming hinges on three central pillars:

  • Self-care: Many brilliant Black executives burn out after working at an unsustainable pace due to the history of inequity and racism. Legacy Leadership responds to these challenges by centering self-care as an essential component of leadership development.

  • Community Activation: Capacity building, network expansion, and shared knowledge are critical access to comprehensive professional networks and resources these have been systemically withheld from Black women. Legacy Leadership engages an Upstander relationship to address these challenges.

  • Legacy Building: Central to sustainable leadership development, legacy building enables Executives to see themselves as thought leaders and experts in their field, affirming value in their own right.

Post-program surveys demonstrate consistent increases in both mental & physical health, with an average 20% increase in self reported well-being.

Since 2020, Legacy Leadership has served 3 cohorts, 75 participants in total

Organizational impact assessments also indicate positive post-program results, such as one cohort member’s 500% budget increase (from $60k in 2020 to $300k in 2022!)

Unique Programming that Engages Stakeholders Across the Community

  • Brilliant, highly-motivated BIPOC young women and teenagers who interned with the Executives

  • Non-Black women dedicated to active anti-racism by increasing access to resources and opportunities for Black people

  • Organizations that invest in the mission of Legacy Leadership by providing financial and/or material support

Legacy Leadership engages multiple tiers of support for its mission:

We are currently seeking partners who are interested in collaborating to support Legacy Leadership. If you are passionate about driving positive change and investing in future leaders, we would love to explore potential partnerships with you.

Participant Impact Statements

This work is about healing past trauma, giving ourselves permission, and learning that community care equals self-care and vice versa.
— Yvonne Druyeh Dodd, Founder, Evi D. Consulting, 2021 Cohort
One of the things I’ve realized as a solo entrepreneur is that people are investing in me. When I’m not well, my company isn’t well. What I loved about the program is that it taught me ways to care for myself.
— Rachel Willis, Founder, Elevating Equity, 2020 Cohort
This program has shown me that the people that my organization serves need the same things that I need: rest and consideration for their rest. The culture I want to have at my workplace will be inclusive of everything I learned.
